For many of us the General Election in May 2015 cannot come quick enough! Political jousting and mentions of a ‘better tomorrow’ are all hinted by the individual parties. This year to add to the confusion we have a multitude of different parties to vote for, unlike many years ago when there were only two or three parties vying for your vote.
In 1891 Herbert Leon, the Liberal candidate, was successful in the election and became a Member of Parliament for the area. I’m not too sure of the location of the photograph below but it shows the prospective candidate travelling by stagecoach on his campaign.
